Contact the Editor
The Historical Music Library is maintained by a single editor who reviews every report personally. If you have noticed something that needs attention, please send a message to editor@bcaut.com. The following kinds of observations are especially helpful:
- Metadata corrections – incorrect title, author, date, or category placement (for example, a volume from the Art of Music series placed under the wrong category).
- File or reading issues – unreadable files, corrupted pages, missing illustrations, or formatting that breaks on a particular device or browser.
- Accessibility problems – poor contrast, missing alt text, or screen‑reader incompatibility.
- Privacy or data questions – concerns about how your visit is handled, or requests related to personal data (the site does not use tracking scripts or cookies by default, but any privacy query is welcome).
- Copyright or rights concerns – if you believe a title (such as Deems Taylor — Key Ideas to Explore or Music in Medicine — Reading Companion) may not be in the public domain in your jurisdiction, please include the relevant details.
- General editorial observations – suggestions for new catalogue entries, corrections to a biography, or thoughts on how a category like “Theory Instruction” could be improved.
What to include in your message
To help the editor act quickly, please provide as much of the following as possible:
- The exact page URL where the issue appears.
- The ebook title and the file format you are using (EPUB, PDF, HTML, etc.).
- The device or browser you were using when the problem occurred.
- A clear description of what you observed and, if applicable, what you expected to see.
- If the matter involves copyright or rights, any supporting information you are able to share (such as the publication date of the original edition, or the name of the rights holder).
How reports are handled
Each message is read carefully. The editor prioritises reports that affect many readers — for instance, a broken file or a misattributed author — but every submission receives attention. If the issue relates to a specific ebook, the editor may consult reference sources to verify the claim before making changes. Reports about copyright or rights are reviewed with particular care; the editor may decide to remove or restrict a title if the concern appears well‑founded, even if the legal status is not entirely clear. Because the library serves a global audience, the editor respects that public‑domain status can vary by country.
Privacy and data handling
Messages sent to editor@bcaut.com are stored only for as long as needed to address the inquiry. The editor does not share correspondence with third parties, nor does it use the content for any purpose beyond responding to the sender. If you request deletion of your message or any personal information it contains, the editor will comply promptly. The library itself does not set tracking cookies or collect browsing data by default; if you have questions about how your visit is handled, the editor is happy to clarify.
A note on response time
The editor reads every message and aims to reply as soon as possible, but because this is a single‑person operation, there may be delays. You will not receive an automated confirmation; every response is written by hand. If you have not heard back within a reasonable period, you are welcome to send a polite follow‑up. Thank you for helping keep the Historical Music Library accurate and usable for everyone.
